5. Tree As written in the booklet that came with the deck: "I am here to stay and grow. I am the health of your body, mind, and soul. Look for the cards next to me to find out more about me. When negative cards are close pack some tissues for your nose. A sign of health and longevity, and the imperative to put down one's roots to ensure a secure future. The card's presence could indicate a health condition that is inherited. Combine this card with the previous card of the House (4) and we have a 'Tree House' that speaks of security, but great family responsibility, and possible ill health through stress. The Tree here also depicts the Tree of Life, a spiritual symbol that has its roots in the most ancient civilizations. Whether it be Babylonian, Egyptian, or Jewish images of the Tree, it speaks here of antiquity and ancient roots. The card's meaning can also be seen in the rainbow, perhaps suggesting that true health is to be found in aligning ourselves between that which is above and that which is below. The harmony of the colours reflecting through the Tree symbolizes the holistic nature of healing and life itself." As I'm looking at the card I'm aware that there is an abundance of colour with the dominant colour being green. Within the leaves of the wonderfully fertile tree are 3 birds, themselves with touches of rainbow colours in their feathers. Connecting through the trunk and the symbolism of the Tree of Life, is the rainbow - flowing into the grasses in the earth. Below are the caps of the fungi, whether they be mushrooms or toadstools ... it makes no difference in this vision. An abundance and steadfastness in how they cycle in their season, as the rainbow appears with the right conditions in the atmosphere. All is indicating the solidity of the tree and how it is firm, strong, a foundation of habitat for so much in life and understanding. Providing for each of us in defined ways, the air, food and habitat. Within is the meaning of life ... 12. Birds As written in the booklet that came with the deck: "A phone call, a text, or a date; that is how I communicate. I am in meetings, or interviews, and I like to negotiate. I an be your sibling, lover, or mate. Couples is what I indicate. This card may be symbolic of jabber, gossip or the passing of information of a positive kind, as ever dependent on the cards in which company it is found. Many voices together are louder than one; it is also the modern view of 'crowd-sourcing' or mass communication. It can be as simple as an announcement that travels quickly or is distributed widely, especially when with the Rider (1) card. It too is the ever-growing world of Facebook and Twitter communication. The card may mean literal 'Tweeting'. There may however be miscommunication with the 'Chinese-Whispers Effect'. In fairytales, characters are sometimes given the ability to understand the 'Language of the Birds' and it could be that the card signifies a misunderstanding, particularly when combined with the Birch (11)." As I'm looking at the card and disregarding the guidance from the booklet as quoted above, I'm focussed on the grouping of the 3 birds that who are already perched and stable. There is an awareness about them of being ready for flight at any moment - a constant listening and looking for threats in the 'outer' realms of where they are presently occupied. The fourth bird which is in flight, either just arriving or just leaving, is not even noticed by the three below. The bird on the left is super vigilant, the central one is looking very confident and almost arrogant as he balances nonchalantly on the twigs, and the one on the right is looking calmly relaxed and at ease, observing his surrounds. To me this scene is suggesting for this afternoon an energy of communication that has been completed, a meeting that has serviced each of the participants in the way they each desired and within their own agendas. As the meeting members are beginning to leave, there is the readiness to face what is ahead without fear. Everything is sorted! I'm going to post using the date as the Title. The cards I've chosen to use this morning are the Gilded Tarot Deck.
I suppose I could just write what is in the guide book that comes with the boxed deck, but I don't have that anymore! I 'lost' it ages ago, because I prefer to use my own intuition regarding what energies and guidance I'm receiving using the card in front of me. What I'm seeing and my eyes are focused toward, are the closed eyes and the 'floating in the air' of the body. The background is just that, the items that are there with us always and will remain there always ... She is being in the superb moment of TIME that is fully free and open to ALL POSSIBILITIES. There are no expectations or boundaries in what she can choose to do or focus on. There is a beauty in the scene of sparkle and soft colours of the night. A time of looking within and just sensing ...
